RT Packer Retrieving Tool

Introduction

RuiFeng’s model “RT” retrieving tool is used to retrieve RuiFeng “WB” packers or other retrievable packer with upper latch thread.

The tool is installed on the drilling or tubing string and run in hole. After it stung into the packer bore and engage the left hand thread above packer upper seal bore, proper weight down is settled to make the spring-loaded lug locate and engage the packer release sleeve, then apply upward pulling to shear the screw installed on release sleeve, continuing upward pulling will move the packer mandrel upward and permit the packer slips to retract.

If the packer cannot be retrieved normally, a straight upward pulling will be needed to shear the screw in the lower spring housing, as a result, the rugged lug will collapse inward, this will allow the retrieving tool to be disconnected from the packer with right-hand rotation. While the retrieving operation is complete, rotating the retrieving tool 6 to 8 turns is required to disconnect the retrieving tool from the packer.
