SP Hydraulic Setting Tool

Introduction

RuiFeng SP Hydraulic Setting Tool is used to hydraulically-set RuiFeng model “WB” retrievable seal-bore packers, or other similar mechanical-set packers. It is installed on tubing or drill string and applicable to set the packer in high-angle or deviated wells where it is difficult to use wireline equipment.

The SP Hydraulic Setting Tool is attached to the top sub of the packer by the left hand thread by rotational. The set of lugs latches into the setting sleeve of the packer. It enables the well to be circulated before the packer is set. While the packer has reached the desired depth, the tripping ball is dropped to land on the top ball seat assembly and sufficient tubing pressure is then applied to set and pack off the packer. Once the packer is set, an annual pressure test may be performed. Then increased the pressure to shear release the SP Hydraulic Setting Tool from packer. If fail to release by applying hydraulic pressure, the SP setting tool can also be disengaged from packer by rotation to the right.
