Successful AICD water control and packing operation for the horizontal well in CNOOC Zhanjiang
In December 2022, the horizontal well AICD water control screen open-hole gravel packing operation was successfully completed in the Weizhou oilfield. This well was an 8.5-inch open-hole gravel completion, using Ruifeng 5.5-inch AICD screen and water control particles packing. The reservoir production allocation resulted in an oil production of 51 m³/d and a water cut of 96.6%. After the well was completed and put into production, the initial production volume was 600 barrels per day, with a water cut of less than 75%. Four months after the production start, the oil production was 91.4 m³/d, the water cut was 91.0%, and the water cut was reduced by 5.6% compared to the expected value, achieving the expected water control goal. This provided valuable experience for subsequent offshore water control gravel packing and completion in this block.
