HC Hydraulic-Set Retrievable Packer

The Model “HC” packer is a hydraulic-set, tubing-retrievable production packer designed for high-pressure application. It is installed with the completion tubing and is set by applying pressure to the tubing. The lock ring holds the packing element and external slip in the full set position. The “HC” packer is similar in design to the Ruifeng “HA” packer, but have higher pressure rating. The straight upward pull shear release and cut-to-release options are available to retrieval for this packer. While the packer is used in high pressure wells or with heavy tailpipe loads, it is recommended to configured it as a cut-to-release packer, in the cut-to-release design, the main mandrel is cut by a chemical or mechanical cutting tools, and the packer with tailpipe is retrieved without leaving any packer components in the well. A straight-pull-shear-release option is available for medium service application. Both releasing methods can be converted easily.
